It is the environmental forum "G-All," a coordination of individuals and associations who, at the upcoming G-8 environment of Syracuse, will lead to ' public attention to issues of environmental protection, climate change and ecological reconversion of the economy.
All subjects that are part signed the document "22 to 24 April 2009, Climate Justice e diritti dei popoli” .
Il forum, ovviamente, è aperto al contributo di quanti, individualmente o in forma associata, riconoscendosi nel documento, vogliano impegnarsi per un mondo più sostenibile e più giusto.
Da quando è giunta la notizia che il G-8 Ambiente si sarebbe svolto a Siracusa, tutta l’attenzione, soprattutto a livello locale, è stata concentrata sugli interventi di manutenzione straordinaria delle strade che condurranno i “grandi della Terra” al Castello Maniace.
Quasi nulla è stato detto sull’agenda politica dell’incontro internazionale: a un mese e mezzo dall’appuntamento si sa solamente che i Ministri dell’Ambiente discuteranno di biodiversità e di cambiamenti climatici. Sul sito del Ministero dell’Ambiente italiano, però, nemmeno si parla del G-8 di Siracusa.
Nulla è stato fatto per coinvolgere le comunità locali in un processo di partecipazione, affinché Siracusa non sia soltanto lo sfondo di questo evento e i cittadini non ne siano spettatori passivi ma protagonisti consapevoli.
Eppure nel nostro territorio i problemi ambientali non mancano. Polveri sottili alle stelle, raccolta differenziata a livelli minimi, consumo sfrenato di risorse e totale assenza di politiche in materia ambientale, da anni relegano la nostra città negli ultimi posti nelle classifiche sulla qualità ambientale.
Noi crediamo, invece, che il G-8, per la Sicilia e per Siracusa in particular, must provide an opportunity to improve the environmental quality of our territory and draw the attention of those who govern and citizens to the global environmental issues and their implications at the local level.
For these reasons, G-All Environment Forum proposes to organize an international event in which, in conjunction with the performance of the G-8, we discuss the bottom of the issues we care about most, with the help of leading personality of the scientific community and civil society.
meetings, conferences, seminars and concerts enliven for three days "our" square banner of peace, solidarity Social and respect for the environment.
this occasion calls for a major event for energy and energy efficiency, renewable energy and against nuclear power, believing wrong and counterproductive to the government's choice to focus on this old and dangerous technology. It will be even more significant that the protest against the return of nuclear power precisely to the territory Ibla, Ragusa in view of the fact that, according to rumors, was chosen as the site for the construction of a nuclear power plant.
